Rose Garden to Grizzly Peak...and Back

Difficulty: Hard. Lots of uphill and downhill climbing
Time: 1.5 hours



Starting at Euclid by the Berkeley Rose Garden, head a short distance south to Codornices Rd.  Just past Codornices Rd take the Rose Walk uphill (about 40 steps plus ramp) to Rose St.

Turn left at Tamalpais Rd and make a right at Shasta Rd.  Go about 500 yards uphill on Shasta until you come to Northgate Path on the right.

Take this uphill (about 230 steps) to Northgate Ave, turn left and then make a right onto Quail Ave.  Follow Quail to Campus Dr and turn right.  Take this to Lower Glendale Path on the left just past Glendale Ave.

Take Lower Glendale Path uphill (about 130 steps) to Queens Rd.  Go left on Queens Rd past Quail.  At Shasta Ave turn right and then take Tilden Path on the right uphill (about 140 steps) to Grizzly Peak.

Turn left on Grizzly Peak, continue pass Shasta Ave until you reach Stoddard Path on the left.

Take it  downhill (about 85 steps) to Miller Ave.  Go left and continue to Shasta Path on the right.

Take it downhill (about 150 steps) to Sterling.  Turn right and go to Lower Stevenson Path on the left and take it downhill (about 110 steps) to Keeler Ave.

There are now two options.
Option 1 (a little longer).  Turn right on Keeler until you get to Whitaker Path on the right. Take it uphill (about 140 steps) to Sterling and turn left.  When you get to Twain Ave, turn left and go to Keeler. Then continue with Option 2.

Option 2: Turn left on Keeler to Shasta and follow Shasta downhill to the right past Northgate Path to Keith Ave and turn right. Pass Covert Path and Martinez Path on the right until you come to Redwood Terrace on the left.

Take Redwood Terrace downhill (about 130 steps) to Euclid Ave and turn left.  Follow Euclid back to the starting point a the Berkeley Rose Garden.
